Our mission was to lean Higgidy Pie away from farmhouse-owning, wellington boots wearers and give their pies a fresher take, appealing to a more urban, younger market.
We needed to represent arrange of demographics and diets (with a single actor) and give this the visual pop of a Just Eat ad with a fraction of the budget
Our creative had the character recounting the story of that heroic day he once cooked pies for his flatmates...and each of them wanted something completely different. We designed custom virtual kitchen backgrounds and used an OLED screen with half-sets and props to wrap around our talent.
Drawing attention away from the spaces we focused on creating sensationalist camera interactions with the food and character: moving through plates of salad, into a steaming gravy whirlpool, and immersion through ovens and fridges.
Using a 360-degree camera rig, we’re able to perform continuous camera rotations and rolls while the subject of focus changes mid-shot. This fluidity, along-side VFX transitions, extra steam, and sound design, tied the piece into a sensory feast—ultimately rumbling the tummies of our now agog viewers.
Bonus points if you can name the inspo for the music score.
