How old must I be to enter?

You must be aged between 16-23 on 01/09/21 to enter.

How do I submit my film?

You must upload your film to Instagram by midnight on Monday 9th August using the hashtag #matchbox21 in the description. All accounts must be set to public. If you are unable to upload to Instagram, please send us an email at matchbox@gusto.film so we can provide you with alternate submission arrangements.

Can I submit a film I've already made?

Absolutely! As long as it fits the brief (end as it begins).

How long should my submission be?

60 seconds.

Can my submission be longer or shorter than 60 seconds?

No, it should be exactly 60 seconds.

When will the winners be announced?

Winners will be announced at our awards night ceremony on 25th August at Plus X Innovation Hub in Brighton.

Can I use stock footage?

Yes, you can.

Can I work as part of a team?

Yes, but entries must be submitted on behalf of one individual.

Can I submit my film to other film festivals?

Yes you can, but only once the winners have been announced.

Can I submit more than one film?

Yes, as long as each submission is distinctly different.

Can I edit my submission after submitting?

No. All submissions will be final. Please make sure you are uploading the correct version of your edit before submitting.

Can my film be in a language other than English?

It can, but please include English subtitles.
