Vacancy: Producer-Director Role

We're looking for a fresh face to join the team! This role is for a Junior/Mid level Producer-Director to come and help shape the future of branded content.

Job Title: Producer–Director (Junior–Mid)

Location: Brighton / London / Hybrid – 2 days a week in the Brighton office (typically Monday & Thursday)
Type: Full-time
Salary: £30,000–£40,000 DOE

About Us

Gusto Film is a small, independent production company making commercial films that hit culturally and creatively.

We make commercials, branded films, social content and animation for clients who value clarity, craft and original thinking - always with the aim of taking brands places they didn’t know they could go.

We’re especially known for our work in music and musical instruments, charity and social impact, food & drink and education. Whatever the brief, we approach it the same way: strong ideas, thoughtful storytelling, and a sharp eye for detail.

We care deeply about the work and how it’s made. We like people who bring ideas, energy and responsibility to the table.

About the Role

For our next stage of growth, we’re looking for a Junior–Mid level Producer–Director to be a key creative and production voice within the company.

This is a hybrid role. Roughly 60% producing and 40% directing, flexing depending on the project.

You won’t direct every project you produce… and you won’t necessarily produce every project you direct and spoiler alert: a fair portion of this work will be with music products/brands/instruments.

You’ll work closely with our EP / Head of Production and Creative Director, with the trust and autonomy to run projects day to day - from first brief to final delivery.

This is a role for someone who wants responsibility, creative input, and the opportunity to help shape our company's future output.

In the first stages, this role will be mostly handling our £5k-£25k range of projects - this is subject to change as the company and role grows.

About You

You’re already doing this job (and bloody love it.)

You have 3–4 years’ experience producing and directing commercial and branded work — in a production company, agency or freelance setting.

You have a client portfolio showing both producing and directing work across projects in the £5k–£25k range.

You’re organised, calm and clear with people. You’re comfortable making decisions and solving problems as they arise.

You care about the art as much as the process and you understand that the process is part of the art.
