The Brief
The University of Nottingham wanted to create a graduation film that felt personal rather than ceremonial, celebrating everything students had achieved while looking ahead to what comes next. It needed to capture the pride and nostalgia of graduation through the students' perspective, while reinforcing that leaving Nottingham doesn't mean leaving the University behind. Graduation is the beginning of a lifelong connection to its people, community and global alumni network.
The Approach
We developed Now Is Your Time, a creative concept built around authentic student voices and a journey from those first moments at university through to graduation. Rather than scripted testimonials, real conversations, memories and experiences drive the narrative, brought together through a visual language of continuous movement, transitions and digital interactions. Different student journeys intertwine to capture the highs, challenges, friendships and experiences that make university life so personal, while showing the shared connection that brings everyone back to Nottingham.
The Impact
The result is an emotive graduation campaign that turns a milestone moment into something bigger: a celebration of where students have come from and excitement about where they're heading next. By putting genuine student experiences at its heart, the film strengthens the sense of belonging between graduates and Nottingham, helping the University begin the transition from student to lifelong member of its alumni community.
